The RCMP Hug-a-Tree and Adventure Smart programs are Search and Rescue programs aimed at children aged five to twelve.

It teaches basic survival skills that one day could save a child’s life by helping the child survive the elements and minimize the risk of defeating a search team’s rescue efforts.

It has as its purpose the goal of teaching them:

  • How not to become lost in the woods
  • What to do if they do become lost
  • How not to come to harm
  • How they can help searchers find them

Should you be interested in having either program taught to an organization, or have any questions, please contact Susan Read at (705) 328-4999.
